The Municipality of Jose Azueta, to which Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo belong, together with the Organizing Committee for World Tourism Day festivities, have announced a new river rafting event for sports fans in the community. It is called Rápidos Rio Ixtapa
The race is to take place on Saturday, September 27th. There will be an orientation meeting on September 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the “Sala de Cabildos“, town hall building.
Race starts at Las Ollas and ends at La Perica, Rio Ixtapa.
Entry categories: Inflatables and Kayaks
Requirements: 4-person teams with life vests and protective helmets for each competitor.
If you’re interested in participating, you can sign up at the Municipal Tourism offices at the town hall, or call 554-2001 for more information.
There will be prizes for first, second and third places. Judges will be appointed by the organizing committee.
