Below is the schedule events for the Revolcadero Historico 2008 children’s surfing event taking place in Acapulco on Oct. 24-26 on Playa Revolcadero:
SCHEDULE
24 October
- Arrival of participants, transfer and installation in the sponsoring hotel, Casa Guajardo, where courtesy rooms will be occupied from Friday 24 through midday on Monday 27 October.
- Sign-in of participants at the McDonalds, Costa Azul right next to Cici, from 6pm to 9pm.
- Participants will be given commemorative t-shirts and a competitor’s armband or bracelet (restrictions apply)
- 8 pm: group assignments
25 October
- 8:00 a.m. Day starts with a marine turtle for the kids on Revolcadero Beach.
- 8:30 a.m. competition starts with smallest children first.
- 12:00 noon: Raffle
- 2:00 p.m. Final group competition of the day.
26 October
8:00 a.m. Presentation by “Playa Hermosa” turtle camp and Fundación Arrecifes Artificiales Pura Vida a.c. on Revolcadero Beach, and kick-off of the days competition.
10:00 a.m. Sponsor Sanavi give special bonuses to the kids.
2:30 p.m.: Festivities continue; sponsor “Hard Rock” cuts a cake for the kids.
3:00 p.m.. Final competition runs.
4:30 p.m.: Awarding of special mentions takes place:
- - special mention awarded to José Manuel Trujillo “yuco” (National Champion in the Los Cabos 2008 Tournament) known as the “Ambassador of the waves of Playa Revolcadero”
- - special mention awarded Rto Roberto Barrera as “honorable member” of the waves of Playa Revolcadero
- - special mention awarded to Sr. Emilio Atri Sacal as Mentor, benefactor and unconditional friend of the Asociación de Surfers de las Olas de Playa Revolcadero.
4:40 p.m.: Awards ceremony for all categories of the tournament
5:00 p.m.: Turtle release ceremony by all participants and champions of the tournament.
5:00 p.m.: Tournament finishes off with a Bikini Girl contest.
Note: Timetable may vary according to conditions of weather, sea and number of participants. Throughout the tournament there will be interactive games taking place for all kids, with prizes awarded to the winners.
The awards ceremony will be different on this occasion for the first two categories of ages 6-8 and 9-11. The winners in these two categories will be awarded prizes as the four best of those categories.
