Acapulco’s Surf Club “Team Barra” extends an invitation to surfers to sign up for the Barra Surf Team Tournament to be held at Playa Barra Vieja on Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11, 2009. The tournament is the 4th annual and is in honor of one of Acapulco’s best surfers, Jorge Luis Cortez Angelito (Yorco).

Place and time: 7 a.m. at Cira La Morena Restaurant, Playa Barra Vieja
The tournament is open to anyone who wants to participate.
FINAL DAY FOR SIGN UPS is Thursday, Jan. 8
Participants must sign up in advance (NO last-minute on the beach sign ups allowed) at any of the following spots:
Picante Surf Shop, Acapulco
Micha Surf Shop, Revolcadero
Bonfil Surf Shop, Playa Bonfil
M C V Surf Shop, Col. Colosio, Acapulco
El Buho, La Barra (see Alfredo Garcia)
On the final day, sign ups will be accepted from 6pm to 9 pm at Bar Casa Rasta, Col. Colosio.
Categories:
- Free Style Category – cost $200 pesos
- Youths Category (13 – 17) – cost $10o pesos
- Childrens Category – (10 -12 yrs) – free
- Men’s Bodyboard Category (any age) – $100 pesos
The event will be judged by official judges of the A.S.E.G. (State of Guerrero Surfing Association) and will follow all Association rules.
