Here’s an update and a message from SPAZ-HKP Sociedad Protectora de Animales de Zihuatanejo, the Zihuatanejo Humane Society and animal shelter that was founded by Helene Krebs P. in 1982. Please support their efforts by donating toward a new, expanded shelter property, adopting a homeless animal, and visiting or walking the animals.

We have been caring for abandoned, homeless and injured animals for 30 YEARS!!! (1982-2012).
We continue our PERMANENT low cost sterilization campaign in Casa Marina. The organization SNAP, from Texas visited us in May 2011. We did 248 sterilizations free of charge with them, in just 5 days! They will come back again this year. With our adoption program, many cats and dogs have been lucky finding homes. Some have even gone to Canada and the United States! Every day of the year, we have abandoned, homeless and injured animals in our refuge, getting healthier and stronger, ready to find good places to live!
Some of the things we accomplished in 2011:83 Wild animals treated and released
148 Dogs and cats adopted.
645 Performed sterilizations in our clinic.
1529 Animals received in our refuge.Total of donations that we received in 2011 in Casa Marina, through Pay Pal and deposited
in our account in Banamex: $ 11783. U.S. dollars.Our goal has not changed. Casa Marina (Located downtown Zihuatanejo) is getting tighter and tighter…Overcrowded! But, we do not give up! We want to be optimistic, concentrate on the present, and continue with our efforts for a better future. Our wish is to move to a bigger facility! We know…It has been our dream for some time…But we just do not have enough money! Hopefully we will get closer this year!
