This Friday, January 20th from 5 to 8 pm is the inauguration of L A Galeria de la Comunidad, or the L A Community Gallery of Zihuatanejo, at the site of the former Blue Mamou blues bar on the road to Playa la Ropa.
This community project brings together a variety of art and cultural expression through painting, sculpture, photography, architecture and other creations of the talented artists living in Zihuatanejo.
The project hopes to gather the funds necessary (60-70 thousand pesos) to cover the costs required to properly fit out and maintain the space occupied for an ongoing series of expositions and artistic presentations throughout the rest of the winter/spring season, ending in April.
Donations of funds, time and effort are all gratefully accepted and will be the lifeblood of the project’s continuance.
You’re invited to come by on Friday and get acquainted with the artists and all their wonderful work as well as the space and other details of the project, and please, tell all your friends!
