Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is privileged to sit on the Pacific coast of Mexico where the waters are forever caressingly warm, where Zihuatanejo Bay provides a series of sheltered and safe beaches and where, outside the bay, one can enjoy more wild ocean vistas and powerful surf all year round. This makes for a tremendously wide range of water and beach sports that are the favorite activities in this area. At any given moment along the beaches lining Zihuatanejo Bay and Ixtapa's ocean frontage, you can see happy vacationers enjoying parasailing, water skiing, banana boats, diving & snorkeling, boogie boarding or simply wallowing in the sand and surf as the sun basks their skin.

Zihuatanejo area activities also include big and small game sportfishing, surfing (with convenient breaks for both long and short boarders), kayaking and bird watching in the nearby lagoons and mangrove wetlands, beachcombing along miles of white-sanded beaches, mountain biking, beach and trail horseback riding, yoga classes, seminars and retreats, visits to nearby villages, our archaeological museum, art galleries and a number of live music venues that draw people increasingly to this area. And don't forget the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival that's held every spring - a whole week of guitar music to enjoy!

If an intensely physically active vacation doesn't appeal to you, there are other activities such as beachcombing our many beaches, checking out the local museum, exploring the local municipal market, and day trips to Petatlan,  Barra de Potosí and other nearby towns as well as longer side trips and overnighters inland and along our coastline.
