UPDATE

Every week day there will be Beach activities from 10 am till 1 pm, including mini-olympics, beach soccer, obstacle courses, relays, etc.

Every week day there will be Fair activities from 6 to 10 pm, which include games, music, theater, storytelling, puppets, magic shows, clowns, workshops, etc.

In Ixtapa:

Kid’s Paradise activities will be happening in Ixtapa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Locations: The “Zona de Feria” or Fair Zone in Ixtapa is located at Kiosko de Ixtapa. The “Zona de Playa” or Beach Zone in Ixtapa is accessed via the “La Cucaracha” or the “Carlos ‘n’ Charlies” public beach accesses.

In Zihuatanejo:

In Zihua, fun events for the kids are scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays. Locations: The “Zona de Feria” or Fair Zone in Zihua is located on Calle Cuauhtemoc (the main pedestrian street running inland from the basketball court) in downtown Zihuatanejo. The Zihua Beach Zones are Playa la Madera, accessed via the public access next to Hotel Palacios, and Playa la Ropa, accessed via the public access next to Paty’s Mar y Mar restaurant.

Week Three’s organic bounty was similar to Week Two, with the addition of some Mexican plum-like fruits (Nisperos) and “Petacon” mangos. A lovely surprise in the basket was a selection of fresh tarragon, rosemary and thyme along with the large-leaf basil.

For the record, I signed up for a “media-canasta” (half-canasta) per week (which is the most apt for only two people) and received the following selection of organic goodies in the first week’s basket:
red Roma tomatoes, green tomatillos, grapefruits, luscious limes, both green and purple basil, a bundle of fresh lemon grass, nopales (cactus), and a bagful of globe zucchinis plus two other kinds of squash…

This morning I made myself fresh celery and organic lime juice sweetened with agave nectar…mmmmmm

The administrator of public libraries in Zihuatanejo has announced that during the “Kilometer of Children’s Books” program, 1,800 books — 600 more than the goal of 1,200 set for the program — were collected. Over the course of the next few weeks, these will be distributed to children in the rural areas around Zihuatanejo.
