Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo and Acapulco all have great surf spots for wave lovers; both beach breaks and point breaks abound along this area of the Pacific coast. Ixtapa has often hosted surfing tournaments and there are a number of surf shops and surfwear suppliers in both Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa. Surfing tours and lessons are available as well, for those wanting to experience the rush of a fast wave propelling them toward the shore.
