La Soledad de Maciel (La Chole) Archaeological site is located near Petatlan. Though the site has not been properly excavated or developed, the villagers have set up a small museum of artifacts collected over the years in the nearby fields and mounds, and provide guides to give a small tour of the area and their museum project.
