For the first time ever, The Muestra Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos, International Human Rights Film Festival, will have showings in the State of Guerrero, in both Acapulco and Chilpancingo.
This festival was begun in 2004 by under the initiative of the Asociacion de Cultura y Testimonio Social de Alicante (ACTES), or the Cultural and Social Statement Association of Alicante, with the aim of creating a forum for debate and raising awareness of human rights violations that are committed in various parts of the world. The organization presents films and debates in the countries of Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala and Mexico.
According to information put out by the state government, some 20 films will be presented here during the fifth world-wide edition of the festival in November, although as of this writing the actual film list has not yet been published.

4 to 8 November in Chilpancingo
11 to 13 November in Acapulco
