From July 29 through August 4th, the basketball court area in downtown Zihuatanejo will be featuring a “Penitenciary Fair” (Feria Penitenciaria) in which arts and crafts and furniture put together by the inmates of the local CERESOs (Social Rehabilitation Centers) will be on display and for sale. Almost all of the inmates participate in the elaboration [...] The fifth annual Acapulco International Film Festival (FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE ACAPULCO) is coming up soon, slated for May 3rd through the 9th, 2009aca2008 Starting off with a Grand Premier in Mexico City, there will then be events in Taxco (with a special projection in the Cacahuamilpa Grottos) and Chilpancingo before the festival kicks off in its official venues in the Port of Acapulco, [...] The Government of the State of Guerrero has announced that on the night of Saturday, January 31st there will be a special events taking place both at the historical Fort of San Diego in Acapulco and at the Pezuapan Archaeological Zone in the state capital, Chilpancingo in commemoration of the International Year of Astronomy 2009 [...] Just a quick update on what’s been going on in town… first, it’s slow. The economy is depressed everywhere, and here is no exception.
