For the past few years Zihuatanejo has been heavily promoting its carnival celebrations that were started up after having been dropped for a time during the late 90s and early 2000s. Right now around town you can see colorful reminders of the upcoming event, with large replicas of masks and banners hanging from [...] The Virgin of Guadalupe Even though we’re in our standard just-before-Christmas lull and in general tourism is on the low side, there has been movement and many fun happenings in town lately, and over the next while there is a lot more planned, so here’s a quick run-down of the parts that I know of [...] Just a quick update on what’s been going on in town… first, it’s slow. The economy is depressed everywhere, and here is no exception. Not too many people around right now although we’re expecting that next weekend, with the Revolution Day long weekend, town and beaches will become somewhat more of writhing mass of humanity [...] |
