Playa Linda

Playa
Linda is located about 10 minutes drive north of Ixtapa proper, following
Paseo de las Garzas past Playa Quieta and Ixtapa's 2nd Hotel Zone. Until
recently, Playa Linda pier was the embarcation point for water taxis
to Isla Ixtapa, which is currently departing from the pier at Playa
Quieta.
The beach provides good swimming as well as several small seafood restaurants and a crafts market. At the northern point of Playa Linda is a rivermouth which is one of the favorite surf spots of the area. (Surfing at Playa Linda).
On approaching the commercial area where the crafts market is located, there is a bridge that spans the outlet to a mangrove marsh. This is a fenced nature preserve in which visitors can see quantities of crocodiles sunning themselves on the shores, large turtles, water fowl and an extensive and fascinating colony of iguanas.
Playa Linda also has horseback riding stables offering trips along the beach and back trails. (See more about horseback riding...)
