Driving Federal Highway 200 along the Guerrero coastline
Below we provide a number of general maps as well as a few write-ups about the routes that provide access into our area from the interior of Mexico. Highways are generally in good condition these days; some washouts can occur during heavy rainy season storms.
In general, it is not a good idea to drive in Mexico after dark; livestock is still common on the roadways even though there are tethering laws supposedly in effect. The coastal highway is being reconstructed and widened but there are still many stretches of winding roads that do not have wide shoulders, and sometimes there are no shoulders at all.
