Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Mexico Vacation Guide

Horseback Riding

Horses are available for rent on Playa Linda, Playa Larga and Barra de Potosi.  The horses are clean, well fed and very tame with western saddles and bridles.

Why the long face? The largest local stable is located on Playa Linda, just north of Ixtapa next to the pier where the water taxis debark to Ixtapa Island.  Available tours will lead you down the beach and up the river through coconut plantations, jungle and alongside wetlands populated with a variety of birds and wildlife.  They even have ponies for the smaller children. Hi-Yo Silver on Playa Blanca A few meters from the beach on the drive to Playa Larga (between Zihuatanejo and the airport) you will discover a small stable with horses for rent.  Or just go to the beach and watch for the local vaqueros (cowboys) to prance by doing tricks. Tricks at Playa Blanca
Horseback at Playa Linda Barra  de Potosi, just past the airport also has horses for rent.  Riding on the beach is pleasant but you will want a boat for a trip through Laguna de Potosi to see a variety of birds including great blue herons and pelicans. Playa Linda rents Ponies
