A 4-day International Peace Event to celebrate the United National International Day of Peace (September 21st) will take place in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo from September 20 through the 23rd. This is a “Heads of Households” event to which the local citizens and business people are invited in order to foster peace in our communities [...] The Zihuatanejo municipal government announced plans for extended Independence Day celebrations to commemorate the bicentenary of Mexican Independence. The festivities will kick off on the 1st of September and end with the Grito de la Independencia (Cry of Independence) that takes place on the eve of Mexico’s Independence and with the military parade on Independence Day itself, September 16th.
